Pantone Creates a New Shade of Purple In Memory of Prince

The Pantone Colour Institute has created a new shade of purple in honour of late music great Prince.

Prince became synonymous with the colour purple following the release of his incredible album and film Purple Rain in 1984. He then styled himself with purple instruments and outfits throughout the rest of his career, earning him the name “The Purple One”.

The new colour is represented by Prince’s “Love Symbol #2” and comes inspired by his custom-made Yamaha purple piano.
